They truly went above and beyond, braving extreme weather like a superhero. To help us recognize and celebrate their efforts, could you please share the order ID or details about the area and timing of the delivery? This will ensure our superhero delivery partner gets the recognition they deserve."

As the video gained traction, it sparked a range of reactions online. While some praised the delivery agent for his commitment towards his work, others criticised the decision of the customers to place orders during such extreme weather conditions.

4 Dhaniya Chutney Mistakes You Didn't Know You Were Making - Here's How To Fix Them

Green chutney isn't just a condiment in Indian homes-it's a whole vibe. Whether you're slathering it on sandwiches, dipping snacks in it, or just adding a zing to your dal-chawal, this chutney is a must-have. Made with fresh coriander (dhaniya), mint (pudina), green chillies, and a splash of something tangy, it's a simple yet essential recipe. But even with the basics down, things can still go wrong. You might end up with chutney that's too bitter, too runny, or just not as vibrant as you'd like. Sound familiar? Don't stress; we've got the fixes for you.

Here's How To Avoid 4 Major Dhaniya Chutney Mistakes In Your Kitchen:

1. Got Runny Chutney? Here's How to Fix It

We eat with our eyes first, and a good green chutney should be thick, almost like ketchup. But sometimes, it turns out runny and watery. So, what's the fix? You can thicken it by adding a spoonful of plain yogurt or some fried Bengal gram (chana dal). Another trick is to simmer the chutney in a pan until the extra liquid evaporates. Just remember to let it cool before storing it.

2. Dealing with Bitter Chutney? Here's the Fix

Ever had your chutney taste more bitter than you'd like? This usually happens because of old ingredients, too much of certain things, or over-blending. But don't worry, you can balance that bitterness out. Add a little sweetness with honey or sugar, or some acidity with lemon juice or yogurt. You can also sprinkle in some extra black salt. Adjust until it tastes just right.

3. Keep Your Green Chutney Green: Here's How

No one likes their bright green chutney turning into a dull brown mess. This happens due to oxidation, which is basically the exposure of your ingredients to air. But there's an easy fix - just add some lemon juice, vinegar, or tamarind after blending to keep that vibrant green colour. Store it in an airtight glass container and keep it cool and dry to avoid any discolouration.

4. How to Tell if Your Chutney's Gone Bad

The best way to know if your chutney has gone bad is to trust your senses. If it looks off or smells funky, it's time to toss it. Any sign of mould or a foul odour means it's a no-go. Don't risk it; just make a fresh batch instead.

Now that you're all set with these green chutney hacks, why not whip up a batch and keep it ready for your next meal? If you need a recipe, we've got you covered - just click here!

8 Best and Worst Oils For Deep Frying - As Told By A Doctor

Deep frying is a popular cooking method, but it requires a careful selection of oils to ensure both flavour and health benefits. The choice of oil is crucial because different oils have varying smoke points, which is the temperature at which an oil begins to break down, producing smoke and potentially harmful compounds. When an oil reaches its smoke point, it loses its nutritional value and can impart a burnt flavour to food. Therefore, understanding which oils are best suited for high-heat cooking like deep frying is essential for both health and culinary success. In this article, we'll explore the best and worst oils for deep frying, helping you make informed decisions in the kitchen.

Also Read: 5 Best Cooking Oils For Heart Health, According To Dr Shriram Nene

Here Are 6 Best Oils for Deep Frying:

1. Refined Coconut Oil:

Refined coconut oil is an excellent choice for deep frying due to its high saturated fat content and stability at high temperatures. With a smoke point of about 400 degrees F (204 degrees C), refined coconut oil is less likely to break down during frying, preserving the flavour and health benefits of your food. Its mild taste also makes it a versatile option for various dishes.

2. Refined Olive Oil:

Although extra virgin olive oil is often praised for its health benefits, it's not suitable for deep frying due to its low smoke point. However, refined olive oil is a different story. It has a smoke point of 465 degrees F (240 degrees C) and contains healthy monounsaturated fats. Refined olive oil undergoes a process that removes impurities, making it stable for deep frying without altering its fundamental glyceridic structure. Its neutral flavour allows it to be used in a wide range of recipes.

3. Ghee (Clarified Butter):

Ghee, or clarified butter, is another excellent option for deep frying. With a smoke point of approximately 450 degrees F (232 degrees C), ghee can withstand high temperatures without breaking down. It is rich in butyric acid, which supports gut health by promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria. Additionally, ghee's anti-inflammatory properties make it a healthy choice for frying, sauteing, and other high-heat cooking methods.

4. Avocado Oil:

Avocado oil is one of the healthiest oils you can use for deep frying. It has an exceptionally high smoke point of around 520 degrees F (271 degrees C), making it ideal for high-heat cooking. Avocado oil is rich in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, similar to olive oil, and contains essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins A, D, and E. These nutrients contribute to various health benefits, making avocado oil a premium choice for frying.

5. Rice Bran Oil and Peanut Oil:

Both rice bran oil and peanut oil are good choices for deep frying, with high smoke points and a healthy balance of monounsaturated fats. These oils are stable at high temperatures and offer a neutral flavour, making them suitable for a variety of fried dishes. Rice bran oil, in particular, is known for its antioxidant content, while peanut oil is valued for its nutty flavour.

6. Mustard Oil:

While mustard oil is commonly used in some regions for cooking, it contains erucic acid, which has been linked to heart issues in animal studies, though evidence in humans remains inconclusive. Mustard oil has a high smoke point and contains beneficial fats, but it should be used in moderation, especially if other healthier options like olive or avocado oil are available.

Also Read: How To Safely Dispose Of Cooking Oil After Frying? Viral Video Explains

Here Are 2 Worst Oils for Deep Frying, As Per The Doctor

1. Extra Virgin Olive Oil:

Extra virgin olive oil is highly valued for its health benefits, including its rich content of antioxidants like polyphenols and vitamin E. However, it has a low smoke point and is not suitable for deep frying. When exposed to high heat, extra virgin olive oil can degrade, leading to the production of harmful compounds. It's best reserved for low-heat cooking or raw dishes, such as a salad dressing.

2. Seed Oils (Sunflower, Soybean, and Canola Oils):

Oils like sunflower, soybean, and canola are high in polyunsaturated fats, which are prone to oxidation at high temperatures. When these oils oxidize, they produce harmful free radicals, which can contribute to chronic health conditions. For this reason, it's advisable to avoid using these oils for deep frying.

Opting for oils with high smoke points and stable fat content can make your fried dishes healthier and more enjoyable.

6 Reasons Why Air Fryers Are The Best Thing To Happen To Your Kitchen

These appliances don't just save time but also open up a world of cooking possibilities, allowing us to explore global cuisines from the comfort of our homes. From microwaves and ovens to coffee makers, these gadgets have made cooking easier and more accessible. One such innovative appliance that has gained popularity in recent times is air fryer. This appliance is like a mini convection oven that promises to match the taste and texture of your favourite fried dishes. Still not convinced about it? Don't worry! We have listed 6 reasons why you should definitely have an air fryer in your kitchen.

Latest and Breaking News on NDTV

Here Are 6 Reasons Why Having An Air Fryer Is A Must-Have In Kitchen:

1. Because It Uses Less Oil

Yes, we all love crispy samosas, fries and pakoras, but what about the excess oil they soak up? Air fryers use rapid air technology which uses very little oil to get the same crispiness you would get after frying. Plus, some studies suggest that using convection heat can help preserve the nutrients of the dish. Trust us, using an air fryer has many benefits, one of which is cutting down the oil content of your food. Imagine biting into a crispy aloo tikki or crunchy kachori without getting the usual oily fingers. With an air fryer, that is possible!

2. Is Your Buddy On Busy Days

If you have a busy lifestyle or have festivals coming up, you will understand how important it is to manage time. Unlike conventional cooking methods, this gadget heats and cooks food quickly. With an air fryer, you can quickly whip up snacks and dishes within no time! Right from crispy tandoori chicken to perfectly roasted vegetables – you name it, you make it. The hot air circulation technology makes sure that your food is cooked evenly and quickly, saving you some precious time in the kitchen.

3. Is Not Just For Frying

Do you think air fryers are just used for frying? Think again! Air fryers are super versatile, meaning you can roast, bake, grill or even reheat food in it. Craving a batch of non-fried gulab jamun? Or how about making some chicken tikka or baking a delicious chocolate? The air fryer can do it all! It is just like having a mini-oven that can multi-task like no other! So, when you are in the mood for something sweet or savoury, the air fryer has got your taste buds (read: back).

4. Makes Less Mess

Let's admit it, one of the most important practices to extend the shelf life of your kitchen tools is to clean and store kitchen appliances properly. More often than not, our kitchen has splattered oil stains, greasy pans, or even the residual smells of food. When you cook with an air fryer, you can say goodbye to these problems! Most air fryers available in the market right now come with non-stick baskets that are easy to wash, making post-work clean-up a breeze. So, without the mess of deep-frying, your kitchen is cleaner and organized for your next cooking adventure.

5. Won't Make You Stare At The Electricity Bill

We all know running a typical oven or microwave consumes a lot of electricity, especially when you are preparing multiple dishes. Air fryers are compact and cook food faster, meaning they use less energy. This won't just save up your electricity bills but is also kinder to Mother Nature.

6. Will Keep Your Food Hot, Not Kitchen

Cooking and deep frying often lead to a lot of heat inside the kitchen. This gets way worse when you are hosting a party or cooking for festivals. Unlike traditional ovens and stoves, the air fryer does not heat up your kitchen! Plus, they absorb the cooking smells, meaning your home stays smelling fresh during and after cooking. No leftover oil odours or smokey aftermath from frying. You can keep the kitchen fresh and cool at all times!

Eggs are loaded with protein, minerals, and all the good stuff that keeps you energized. So, we found a fun twist on a classic egg dish that'll totally up your breakfast game. Meet Shakshuka but with a desi twist. Sounds cool, right?

What's Shakshuka? And How Do You Give It A Desi Twist?

In simple terms, shakshuka is a North African dish with poached eggs usually enjoyed at breakfast. The name basically means 'mixture,' where you saute tomatoes and onions with spices, then poach eggs on top. It's healthy, filling, and super easy to make, which is why it's become a hit in places like Israel, Libya, Morocco, and Turkey. It even made its way to Spain, where they often add their local sausage, Chorizo.

But here's where it gets interesting: we took the same onions, tomatoes, and eggs, and swapped out the African spices for our very own desi ones-think turmeric, coriander, red chili powder, and black pepper. And instead of regular oil, we used ghee for that extra flavor and nutrition. Sounds tasty, right? So what are you waiting for? Grab your chef's hat, crack open a couple of eggs, and head to the kitchen.

Why Is Desi Shakshuka A Healthy Choice?

As we mentioned earlier, eggs are a powerhouse of protein, minerals, vitamins, and other essential nutrients. And by adding ghee, you're boosting the dish with healthy fats and carbs that keep you going all day. Want to know more about the benefits of cooking with ghee? Click here.

How To Make Indian-Style Shakshuka At Home:

This recipe comes from nutritionist Shikha Gupta, who's all about making healthy food interesting.

  • Start by heating an iron pan.
  • Add some ghee and saute green chilli, onion, ginger, and garlic.
  • Next, toss in tomatoes, salt, and turmeric, cooking until the tomatoes get soft.
  • Once the gravy reaches a medium consistency, crack the eggs into it, and sprinkle some salt and coriander.
