"How Could You": Man Shares Cute Note By "Lil Brother" After He Ate His Fruit Snack

Twitter was in for a good laugh recently, as the internet users stood witness to an adorable complaint by a kid to his elder brother. Well, fruit snacks are something to die for and one could go up against the world for them, so what we are about to show you is not that surprising. A Twitter user was taken through a guilt trip after he ate his “lil brother's fruit snacks”. Wondering what happened next? Crying would definitely be the very first reaction of any child and things for no different for this little one. But along with a few tears, the Twitter user also received a cute note of protest from his brother for eating his snack. He shared the picture of his sibling's note and added the caption, “I ate my lil brother's fruit snacks and came home and found this.”

Those multiple crying emoticons at the end of the caption surely hint at the depth of his guilt now. The picture shows a one-line note written on a Ben10 notepad that says, “How could you?” But what melted the internet's heart was that the note was soaked in a few tear drops visible on the paper.

As soon as the Twitter user shared the incident, several users wasted no time in asking him if the man got his little brother a new packet of snacks. Many were concerned if he apologised to him.

A comment read, “Say sorry right now and buy him some more.”

Another asked him, “Buy him replacement fruit snacks right now.”

A few claimed, “This is what betrayal looks like.”

Well, fruit snacks are tough to say no to, it appears. A 300-pound potbellied pig named Albert was lured back home a few weeks back. Courtesy: The fruit snack. Albert got lost in Wisconsin in America. Therefore, the authorities devised a foolproof strategy of luring him back home with the help of this lip-smacking snack. The Green Bay Police Department made the announcement by dropping the news on their Facebook page. The department post revealed that Albert embarked on his big-city adventure after he found his fence gate was accidentally left open.

The post read, “To help Albert find his way, officers went door-to-door asking if anyone had recognised him. It didn't take long, as a neighbour of Albert's knew the way to go. But once we found mom, she knew Albert was only going to cut his big city adventure short under one condition: fruit snacks.”

What To Do With Raw Bananas? Make Tasty South Indian Raw Banana Fry

Indian cuisine is a potpourri of complex flavours that reflect the diversity of the subcontinent. But certain dishes capture our attention with their simplicity, yet mesmerise our taste buds with their vibrant flavours. One such dish is Aratikaya Fry, also known as raw banana fry. Originating from the southern regions of India, this dish has gained popularity for its distinctive taste and versatile nature. Aratikaya Fry is made with unripe banana, which otherwise lacks in taste but when fried to make this dish, explodes with impressive flavours.

What Is Aratikaya Fry:

Aratikaya Fry is a common dish prepared in many households, street food stalls, and restaurants across south India. It is made by frying raw banana slices and seasoning them with spices. Its popularity can be attributed to the unique combination of textures and flavours it offers. With its crispy exterior and tender interior, this dish delivers a delightful contrast that pleases the senses. It works as an excellent side dish for dal-sambhar, or roti-curry or can also be enjoyed as a crunchy snack.

How Does Raw Banana Taste Like:

One bite into a perfectly cooked Aratikaya Fry and you'll fall in love with it. The natural sweetness of raw bananas complements the fieriness of spices, taking our palate on a joy ride. The addition of aromatic spices, such as turmeric, red chilli powder, and cumin, adds depth and warmth to the dish. Serve the Aratikaya Fry hot as a side dish or as a delicious snack alongside your favourite chutney or yoghurt dip.

How To Make Raw Banana Fry I South Indian Aratikaya Fry Recipe:

Peel the raw bananas and slice them into thin round pieces. Soak them in water for some time to prevent them from browning. Meanwhile, mix together turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, and salt to make the masala for the dish. Then drain the water from the banana slices and dry them naturally or wipe them off with a kitchen towel.

Time to cook. Heat some oil in a pan and drop in the banana slices. Make sure they are evenly spaced out. Fry them in batches if required. Once the slices are fried and turn brown on both sides, switch off the flame and transfer the banana onto a plate lined with absorbent paper, which will absorb excess oil. Now all that is left is to sprinkle the masala you made earlier all over the slices. Give them a good toss so that all the slices are coated with the masala, and serve hot or cold.

Feel free to adjust the spice levels according to your preference. You can also experiment with additional spices and herbs to create your own unique version of Aratikaya Fry.

Woman Asks Sister To Roast Brinjal What She Did Ends Up Being Comedic Gold

We all have at least one vegetable on our list that makes us cry at the dinner table. While some try to stay a mile and a half away from bitter gourd, there is a section that says no to brinjal. Relatable? You are not alone. Wondering why we are talking about a brinjal today? We came across a video that gave a  new definition to brinjal “roasting”. So when a woman asked her sister to roast the brinjals, little did she know that it would end up being pure comedic gold. This is because her sister took the term “roasting”, in all its literal sense, and delivered a laughing stock to thousands of users on the internet. We can bet that you haven't seen such roasting of brinjal in your life.

Taking the roasting of brinjal quite literally, her sister began criticising the vegetable in the most unexpected way possible. Yes, you read that right. And after learning what she said about it, we really think that the vegetable would be offended. The clip opens with a small brinjal kept on the kitchen counter. With the camera pointed at it, the sister in the background can be heard saying, “Tu itni gathiya sabzi hai ki log tujhe maar maar ke tera bharta bana dete hain. Aloo ko dekh vo kaha se kaha pahunch gaya, par tu ab tak yahin hai kyunki tu sabki last choice hai. (You're such a terrible vegetable that people would beat you up to turn you into a mashed dish. Look at potatoes, how they've come so far, but you're still stuck here because you're everyone's last choice).”

Expectedly, in no time the comments section of the post was swamped with the hilarious comments. Innumerable users also flooded it with memes.

Many users were quick to confess in the comments section that they “don't like brinjal.”

But a few sided with the vegetable and pointed out how good the baigan ka bharta tastes. A comment read, “Gathiya sabzi nahi hai. Baingan ka bharta bada mast hota hai. Aadmi 2/3 roti jyaada khaa jaaye swaad swaad mei. Baingan ka bharta.” (It's not terrible. Baingan ka bharta is so tasty that one ends up eating extra rotis with it.)

What do you think? Do you also have a fondness for baigan ka bharta?

Enjoy Your Vacation to the Fullest: 7 Foods to Avoid While Traveling

Travelling is fun, but what's not enjoyable is falling sick on a vacation. It's easy to succumb to the temptation of indulging in every culinary delight that comes our way. However, for those dedicated to their diet and health goals, maintaining discipline while travelling can be challenging. And, God forbid, falling ill due to unhygienic food can put a damper on the joy of holidaying. The good news is that with a few simple strategies, you can stay true to your diet on the go and stay fit. Let's explore some foods that you should try to avoid to continue savouring new experiences.

Here are 7 Foods to Avoid While Traveling:

1. Limit Caffeine Intake:

Caffeine is often what we seek when we are sleep-deprived and in need of an energy boost. However, excessive consumption of sugary and caffeinated teas and coffees can lead to dehydration and an energy crash. Opt for herbal tea or green tea instead. These beverages are mildly caffeinated and mostly sugar-free. You can even bring your own green tea bags or a pack of herbal tea leaves.

2. Go Easy on the Alcohol:

Alcohol during a vacation may seem like a must. However, overindulging can have detrimental effects on your diet and health. If you must drink, try to avoid cocktails containing fructose syrup and excessive sugar. Additionally, consuming too much alcohol can dehydrate your body and leave you feeling drained.

3. Say No to Fried Food:

Consuming excessively greasy or oily foods while travelling can disrupt your digestion and leave you feeling uncomfortable. It's best to avoid fried foods with high oil content and opt for dishes that are grilled, sauteed, steamed, or roasted.

4. Walk Past the Street Stalls:

Exploring the local flavours is one of our missions while visiting a new city or country. And there's no better way to experience it than by sampling the street food. However, not all street food stalls meet hygiene standards and they could harbour harmful bacteria. Trust your gut feeling and walk away from stalls that look unhygienic.

5. Desert the Desserts:

The sight of attractive candies, chocolates, and pastries can make anyone weak in the knees. But it's important to gather the courage and steer clear of them or share them with your fellow travellers. Consuming too many sweets can make you lose energy quickly.

6. Reduce Processed Foods:

Processed foods often lack essential nutrients and can be high in unhealthy fats, sodium, and artificial additives. When travelling, avoid pre-packaged meals, fast food, and heavily processed snacks. Instead, opt for whole food options like salads, lean protein, and fruits that provide nourishment and keep you feeling satisfied.

7. Minimise High-Sugar Beverages:

It's easy to quench your thirst with sugary sodas, energy drinks, or sweetened fruit juices while on the go. However, these beverages are often loaded with empty calories and can contribute to weight gain. Choose water, unsweetened herbal teas, or freshly squeezed juices to stay hydrated and nourished without the added sugars.
Maintaining a healthy diet while travelling is a balancing act, but with a conscious effort, it can be achieved, making vacations all about fun.

Why Warm Lemon-Turmeric Water Is Considered Good For Health?

Role Of Warm Water In Monsoon Diet:

According to Ayurveda, warm water creates heat in the body that further regulates metabolism and other bodily functions. It helps break down fats, absorb nutrients, relax muscles and increase blood and oxygen flow in the body. These factors come together to keep up the water balance in body and fortify the immune system to prevent viral attacks in monsoon. Hence, you would often find people drinking warm water empty stomach to start their mornings on a healthy note. That's not all. Some people also have it after their meals to aid the digestion and prevent fat accumulation in the body.

Role Of Lemon In Monsoon Diet:

One of the potent sources of vitamin C and antioxidants, lemon is known to strengthen immunity. During monsoon, when our body becomes prone to diseases, these nutrients come together to produce antibodies against the harmful microorganisms. According to Bengaluru-based nutritionist Anju Sood, one must have two lemon juices per day to enjoy all its benefits to the fullest.

Role Of Turmeric In Monsoon Diet:

Turmeric contains curcumin that is anti-septic and anti-viral in nature, which automatically makes the ingredient good for immunity during monsoon. Moreover, the anti-inflammatory properties help flush out the excess toxins and promote blood flow in cells that aid glowing skin and even healthy hair during the humid monsoons.

How To Make Warm Lemon-Turmeric Water:

Ideally, in a glass of hot water, you should add one lemon juice, half tsp turmeric powder and one tsp honey; stir the drink well and guzzle.
But if you are using raw turmeric, we suggest, boiling half-inch turmeric well in water for almost five minutes. Then strain it in a glass, add lemon juice and honey and drink!

When Is The Right Time To Drink Warm Lemon-Turmeric Water:

If you scroll through the internet, you would find multiple expert articles explaining the benefits of drinking detox water in the morning. It helps kick-start metabolism and regulate all other bodily functions smoothly. But some often complain of acidity and heartburn after having lemon water the first thing in the morning. For them, experts suggest including the drink in their post-meal routine for easy digestion. To put it simply, dosage differs from person to person as per their tolerance. Hence, we suggest consulting a nutritionist before including any kind of detox drink in their routine.
Make your diet choices wisely and enjoy a good and happy health this monsoon.

About Pahadi-Style Cucumber Raita:

We've all tried cucumber raita at some point, but this Pahadi-style version of it is quite unique. Wondering what makes it so unique? Well, the answer lies in the mustard seeds that are added to it. The seeds give the raita an interesting flavour that makes it stand out. This raita is quite popular in the Kumaoni region of Uttarakhand. Some people also refer to it as Kumaoni raita locally. It is super refreshing and a must-have accompaniment to everyday meals.

Is Pahadi-Style Cucumber Raita Good For Weight Loss?

We all know that curd is a rich source of probiotics, which makes it great for digestion. And this pahadi-style cucumber raita is no different. It helps in better digestion of food, which prevents the accumulation of fat, thus making it great for weight loss. While raita in itself is quite cooling, the addition of cucumber makes it even more refreshing. It'll help you stay full and also prevent binge eating.

Pahadi-Style Cucumber Raita Recipe: How To Make Pahadi-Style Cucumber Raita

Momos Get A Crispy Twist - Have You Tried Pan-Fried (Kothey) Momos Yet?

Momos - the tiny treats bring us a huge amount of joy. Momos have become an integral part of Indian street food culture and have captured the hearts and taste buds of foodies worldwide. So much so that you can find different kinds of momos attracting different palates. While traditional momos are typically steamed, pan-fried momos take the culinary experience to a whole new level. With their golden-brown exterior, they offer a delightful contrast to the softness of the filling within. And they offer a healthier option for a crispy indulgence in place of fried momos.

What are pan-fried momos?

As the name suggests, these momos are cooked by shallow frying them in a pan. But not everyone knows that they are also steamed along the way. So what you get are classic steamed momos which are also shallow fried to make their crust crispy. With their golden-brown exterior, they offer a delightful contrast to the softness of the filling within.
What truly sets pan-fried momos apart from their steamed cousins is the texture and flavour that emerges from the frying process. The interplay between the heat of the pan and the dough gives rise to a delicate crispiness, complementing the succulent filling and creating a winning combination of crunch and tenderness.

Are pan-fried momos healthy?

If you compare them to deep-fried momos, pan-fried momos are definitely healthier. They use less oil to cook and absorb less oil as they finish cooking. Pan-fried momos are made along with the steaming process, so it's a better option if you crave the crispiness of fried momos but want to eat healthily. However, if you compare them to steamed momos or grilled momos, they do not fare that well because of obvious reasons.

How To Make Pan-Fried Momos I Easy Pan-Fried Momos Recipe:

Traditional momos often feature a blend of minced meat, vegetables, and spices, pan-fried momos offer a canvas for experimentation and innovation. From classic combinations like lamb or chicken with cabbage and onions to vegetarian variations with tofu, mushrooms, and seasonal greens, the possibilities are endless.
Here we have a recipe for easy chicken vegetarian pan-fried momos that you can easily make at home.
The journey begins with the kneading of the dough made from flour, water, and a pinch of salt. The dough is then rolled into thin circular wrappers, ensuring that they are pliable yet sturdy enough to encase the filling. Once the filling is prepared, it's time to bring the momos to life on the stovetop. First shallow fry the momos with some oil and then steam them with some water.
As the heat penetrates the dumplings, the bottom layer turns golden and crispy, imparting a delightful aroma that wafts through the air. Craving it already? It's time to give the recipe a try!

Courtyard By Marriott Aravali Resort Celebrated One Year Anniversary With A Spectacular Extravaganza

The Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort celebrated its first year anniversary with a dazzling event that left guests mesmerised. Set against the backdrop of the picturesque Aravali hills, this luxurious resort has become a haven of repose and impeccable hospitality since its grand opening a year ago. Influencers, media personalities, and guests came together to commemorate the remarkable success of Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort. I had a great time at the event which was enhanced with good food and great company.

vasikro

The party embodied the theme of 'Glitz and Glam' right from the start. The evening kicked off at the Olive Grove, a stunning poolside bar, where we were treated to an array of refreshing cocktails. Accompanying the beverages was an impressive selection of hors d'oeuvres that were as visually captivating as they were delicious. From the perfectly crafted butternut squash tian to the tantalising meat sliders, pulled jackfruit baos, and exquisitely presented quiches, every bite was a delightful explosion of flavours. For those with a sweet tooth, the hazelnut butter and jaggery stacks and the heavenly coconut and sago brulee were pure indulgences.

As the sun set and the poolside soiree reached its peak, the party moved to the banquet hall, where a surprise awaited us. The resort went above and beyond by embracing Pride Month and expressing solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. A fabulous fashion show, in collaboration with Param Sahib and Levo Spa, took centre stage, celebrating the spirit of pride in all its glory. The fashion show was accompanied by captivating dance performances that added an extra layer of entertainment to the event.

The grand finale of the evening was a lavish dinner buffet that showcased a range of international and regional Indian cuisines. I got an opportunity to savour the 'Wonders of Agra' with Agra-special bhalle, raj kachori and tokri chaat. 'The Quintessential Bihar' delicacies like aloo ka chokha and sattu ke litti were quite tempting. My curious palate took me to the 'Streets Of Aminabad' where Aminabadi Gucci biryani surprised and impressed me with its great taste. All this delicious food satiated my heart but worked up my appetite for Thai curry and rice combo which was divine. The Japanese curry was also palatable but did not match my palate. However, the Italian section was enough to whet my appetite with delicious homemade pasta. And to my delight, the extensive selection of mouthwatering desserts provided the perfect ending to a culinary extravaganza.

My stay at The Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort was once again thrilling and rejuvenating. I can never get enough of their gorgeous pool and the large variety of food offerings.

Cooling Non-Alcoholic Options

If you prefer non-alcoholic beverages, try the Watermelon Cooler. With its crisp and thirst-quenching taste, this drink is the perfect companion on a hot summer day. For a zesty and invigorating choice, try the Lemongrass and Kaffir Lime beverage. It offers a harmonious blend of citrusy and herbal notes, providing a delightful respite from the heat.

1. Regular cleaning:

The first and foremost tip is to not use your fridge for too long, without cleaning it. You need to fix a regular time period after which you clean it. And by cleaning we do not mean taking wet clothes and wiping the shelves. Several fridge cleaning solutions are available in the market that you can use. Once you have cleaned it properly, you can take a few ingredients that will overpower any type of odour. Ingredients like ground coffee, lemon, curry leaves and cloves among others have such strong scents that they will outshine any item in the fridge. In addition, curry leaves and neem leaves will help you with any unwanted insects.

3. Using air-tight containers:

One of the smartest and most hygienic ways of storing any type of leftovers is by packing them in an airtight container. This way you will never have to worry about any spillage. And also, an airtight container will stop any type of lingering smell from coming out of the box. Other than solving your odour or spillage problem, airtight containers may also help the food to stay edible for much longer.

4. Vinegar:

If you boil vinegar with water and then store it in your fridge for 4 to 6 hours, this will absorb any type of bad odour lingering in your refrigerator. And if you use apple cider vinegar, your fridge will have a fruity smell.

5. Essential oils:

If you want your refrigerator to smell fresh for longer hours, you can take the help of essential oils. We advise you to take a cotton ball and dip it in a fragrant essential oil and store it one of these on every shelf. This way your fridge will smell sweet and fresh. For instance, vanilla essential oil is a great choice to spruce up your fridge.

How To Make Santula - A Yummy Mixed Vegetable Delicacy From Odisha

Indian cuisine is beautifully rich because of its variety. Every state and even region within states have their own distinctive flavours, cooking methods and culinary practices. Today, we invite you to dip into one of the lesser-explored regional cuisines: Oriya or Odia food. The state of Odisha has a fascinating cultural heritage that is also reflected in its food. To get you started, we have a simple and wholesome vegetable dish that you can make using common ingredients. This traditional Odia delicacy is called Santula, and we are sure you will enjoy it.

What Is Santula?

Santula is a mixed vegetable preparation from Odisha. This delicacy typically contains brinjal (eggplants), raw papayas, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, pumpkin, carrots, etc. The veggies are first boiled and later sauteed with the spices and other ingredients. Santula usually derives its flavour from ginger, garlic and panch phoron - a traditional spice mix that comprises fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, nigella seeds, black mustard seeds and fennel seeds. A small quantity of milk can be added, to give it a more curry-like consistency. It can be savoured with rotis, puris, rice, etc. Santula is also one of the President of India Droupadi Murmu's favourite dishes from her home state.

Is Santula Healthy?

Santula is packed with vitamins and antioxidants, thanks to the use of different types of veggies. Although this recipe uses oil for pan-frying the ingredients, it is not the same as the unhealthy amount used for deep-frying. Similarly, it uses some milk for the curry base, but not any heavy or high-calorie cream (as other dishes do). The various spices used in Santula not only make it aromatic but also extra nutritious. If you want something wholesome and satisfying, then this traditional dish is a wonderful choice.
